At the beginning of 2009 there were 309 general pharmacies (plus 181 structural units), 25 hospital pharmacies (plus 3 structural units) and 6 veterinary pharmacies (plus 1 structural unit). Of that, the turnover of general pharmacies constituted approximately 78,9% with 903 million kroons (58 million EUR), the turnover of hospital pharmacies was 20,8% with 238 million kroons (15 million EUR), and the veterinary pharmacies had the smallest share in the total turnover – 4 million kroons (250 000 EUR) which is less than 1% of the total turnover. Compared to the results of the first quarter of 2008 the turnover of the general pharmacies increased by 0,5% and hospital pharmacies increased by 7,2%, while the turnover of veterinary pharmacies decreased by 11,7%.
