Estonia is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe bordered to the north by the Gulf of Finland, to the west by the Baltic Sea, to the south by Latvia and to the east by Lake Peipus and Russia. Across the Baltic Sea lie Sweden and Finland. The territory of Estonia consists of a mainland and 2,222 islands and islets in the Baltic Sea, covering 45,339 km2 (17,505 sq mi) of land and water, and is influenced by a humid continental climate.

About 1.1 million people speak Estonian, one of the world’s smallest official national languages. It is used successfully in all areas of society. Estonians also speak a variety of other languages.

Estonians understand technology: Skype revolutionized communication, TransferWise changed international money transfers, GrabCAD helps to build products faster and Starship robots reframe local delivery.

Although we are known mostly for our digital ambition there`s much more to see and feel in Estonia.

Population density in Estonia is almost four times less than EU’s average making Estonia the third sparsely populated country in EU. According to WHO Estonia holds the 4th place in the urban air quality in the world.

Estonia is a dreamland for nature lovers. Forests cover about half of Estonian territory. More than 40% of them belong to the state and are certified as organic collection areas. Everyone can freely pick berries, mushrooms or just enjoy the freshest air. From any point on mainland the nearest marsh is always less than 10 km away.
