The medicinal products market has grown rapidly during the last five years.
In 2023 the human medicinal products market share reached 456 million euros. The sales of prescription medicines covered 87% and the sales of over-the-counter medicines 13% of the pharmaceutical market.
Based on ATC classification, antineoplastic and immunomodulating agents had the greatest market share of 24%. Alimentary tract and metabolism medicines covered 12% and antiinfectives for systemic use 12% of the market. The market share of these three ATC groups was altogether ca 50%
The veterinary medicinal products market share in 2023 was 18.6 million euros. Based on ATCvet classification three largest ATCvet groups covered 63% of total veterinary medicinal products market were antiparasitic products 25%, immunologicals 19% and antiinfectives 19%.
