The overview includes the detailed consumption data of active substances, the information of unauthorised medicines and reported adverse drug reactions. The pharmacy statistics is based on the quarterly reports of Estonian general and hospital pharmacies. These reports do not include information on the sales of different products but the overall turnover of the pharmacy.
The figures included in the book represent sales from the wholesalers to general and hospital pharmacies and to other institutions (mostly state and scientific institutions). In addition to the drug consumption data the current book provides an overview of the distribution of medicine sales between main ATC groups.
The yearbook is edited by our specialists Janne Sepp, Marju Sammu and Maia Uusküla.
"The State Agency of Medicines has been collecting Estonian statistics on medicines since 1994 and the pharmacy statistics since 2002. Since 2006 we have been publishing our statistical yearbooks," said Janne Sepp. "The first books were published in paper format, but in recent years we have published e-books."
